Presented ‘Minimizing In-Vitro Fertilization Failures by Utilizing Artificial Intelligence to Evaluate the Health of Human Embryos’ at 2024 IEEE ISEC and published in IEEE Xplore journal.

Presented at 2024 International Conference of the Genetics Society of Thailand (iGST) and published ‘Quercetin Mitigates Neurotoxicity and Enhances Antileukemic Effects of Vincristine Against Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia CCRF-CEM Cells’ in Open Science Framework

As a student researcher at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Ashrita worked with Dr. Hadi Shafiee, an MD and Ph.D. The research delved into the realm of computational biology, with a specific focus on women’s health. They explored the intricate aspects of fetal, embryo, and blastocystic health in pregnant women, leveraging computational approaches to unravel the complexities of these crucial developmental stages

During her research internship at Brown University, Providence, RI, Ashrita worked with Dr. Christoph Schorl to investigate genetic markers associated with Type II Diabetes. Utilizing the simple organism C. elegans as a model, they examined the activity levels of two genes, SOD-1 and DAF-2, under varying glucose concentrations. Their study aimed to unravel the molecular underpinnings of this metabolic condition through the lens of gene expression patterns.

As a student researcher, Ashrita worked on a concept concerning spindle mechanics and chromosome segregation, cytoskeleton and cell morphology, & organelle (nucleus, mitochondria) dynamics under the guidance of Prof. Phong Tran, University of Pennsylvania – Cell & Developmental Biology Lab.

Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair (VSSEF) 2024 : Ashrita’s research on “Combating Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia with Plant-Derived Biocompounds Quercetin & Vincristine” won her the first place in the Chemistry category. This remarkable achievement marked the second time Ashrita secured the prestigious state award, further solidifying her prowess in scientific research. Moreover, her outstanding work was recognized with the esteemed Mark Licata Award for Biotechnology, underscoring its significance and potential impact.

Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair (VSSEF) 2023 : Ashrita presented her LetoHealth web portal, result of year long research on effective selection of embryos for successful IVF treatment cycles. The work won her first place in Microbiology category. Her research work was also selected for Mark Licata Award for Biotechnology.
